Expanded perlite - general information

Perlite is a natural volcanic rock. Perlite has interesting physical and chemical properties:

  • it has low heat conductivity and high thermal insulation
  • has a very low bulk density,
  • has a very high noise dampening properties,
  • resistant to high temperatures,
  • chemically neutral,
  • high physical stability.


The above perlite properties make it suitable for several applications:

  • in construction industry, as a component of materials with very good thermal and acoustic insulation; it is a compound of plasters and mortars etc.,
  • in gardening it is used as a component of composite substrates with both organic and mineral substances in order to improve their structure, increase water absorption and sorption properties, limiting rinsing of nutrients.
  • one of filtering compounds,
  • insulating material in high-temperature processes,
  • as a filler or carrier in different technologies.

Based on the bulk density as well as the granulation, internal breakdown of perlite into three following types was performed:
- EP 100F (class 0)
- EP 150 (class I)
- EP 180 (class II)
- EP 200 (agroperlite) (class III).
We offer perlite in paper bags with the volume of 125 litres, big bags and in bulk in cisterns.
